Read why our dear member Gunhild started Pilates and why she still works out several times a week after many years.
- Pilates is so much more than rehabilitation.
“Pilates is so much more than rehabilitation. Granted, that's also where I started. For the first while, I trained out of necessity. Then came a couple of years where Pilates was a weekly class for conscience sake squeezed into a busy work and family life.
Today, Pilates is for fun. The variety, pace and challenge of the skilful instructors' classes make me enjoy every session, even though the classes can be monster hard. My body is stronger, more flexible and toned like never before. But Pilates is also an investment in the future.
I have osteoarthritis in my knee - and it needs to be trained, because as a primary school teacher, both my mind and my body have to withstand a lot - and I won't retire for another 17 years... And then there's Molly, my 15-month-old granddaughter, who will hopefully have siblings and cousins one day. I plan to play with them, dance with them, learn to ski, skip and cycle with them. So training at Pilates Cph is now also fingers crossed for an active life ahead. “
